AVREN

Right of withdrawal & returns

The general rule is a 14-day right of withdrawal — but most orders from AVREN fall under the law's exceptions for made-to-order and fresh food. See why, and what applies if something goes wrong.

Right of withdrawal — the general rule

As a consumer, you normally have a 14-day right of withdrawal for online purchases, under the Norwegian angrerettloven (Act of 20 June 2014 No. 27) §§ 20–21.

Scope and B2B sales

This page applies to consumer purchases made directly on avren.no. Sales to business customers through the B2B catalogue (accessed via /registrer to /for-bedrift/katalog) are not governed by the withdrawal rules described here, but by a separate agreement entered into directly between AVREN and the business in question.

Exceptions for AVREN's deliveries

The Act makes exceptions to the right of withdrawal in § 22 for several types of agreements relevant to AVREN's business:

— § 22(e): goods made to the consumer's specifications — applies to menus and dishes assembled or customised via the configurator or by agreement. — § 22(m): catering for an event on an agreed date — applies to catering orders with a fixed delivery date. — § 22(b): goods that deteriorate or expire quickly — applies to whichever shop items genuinely have a short shelf life. This exception is assessed per item, not as a blanket rule for the whole shop — some cured products keep for a long time and aren't automatically covered.

Which exception applies depends on the type of order — contact info@avren.no if you're unsure about your specific order.

If none of the exceptions apply to your order, you have the ordinary 14-day right of withdrawal. You can then use the standardised withdrawal form set out in the regulation on information duties and the right of withdrawal § 1 (available from Forbrukertilsynet and at signform.no) — contact info@avren.no and we'll send it along with your order confirmation.

Cancellation before production

Orders can be cancelled free of charge up until no later than 48 hours before they are due to go into production. After that point, cancellation isn't possible, since ingredients and work have already gone into your specific order. See also the terms of purchase.

If something is wrong with your delivery

If your order arrives damaged, wrong, or not as ordered, we'll get in touch and find a solution — a fix, replacement, price reduction, or refund, depending on the situation, in line with the complaints rules in the Norwegian Consumer Purchases Act. Contact info@avren.no as soon as possible, and no later than within a reasonable time after discovering the issue.
